Here’s the letter Audio-Technica sent to registered users of the AT-2020 USB microphone that I heartily recommend…warning that “certain microphone storage bags for the AT2020 USB microphone may contain a lead level in excess of the permissible limits under California Proposition 65″ and gives instructions on how to get a replacement. Pay attention to the dates shown for the pouch replacement in the letter, as you may be reading this post long after the replacement program has ended.

If this letter has been sent only to California residents (I’m not sure as I just received it, I live in California, and I haven’t heard from owners in other states – comment below if you got one outside the state), the replacements may not be available to non-California owners – but I doubt Audio-Technica would refuse to replace your pouch if you asked.
