I will be at your workshop on Monday – missed last Wednesday.

Question: What do you charge for a one on one? SAG foundation is offering an ACX contract to some SAG member, depending on VO submission. I’ve taken your workshop before and thought maybe you could give me a few pointers when preparing my dialogue. Or, do you have a contact to a one on one audible coach?

    thanks

    Hey, David –

I’m very interested in participating in your March 1st day-long work-out here in San Francisco. I do, however, have a few question I’d like to ask before signing-up.

Firstly, what’s the maximum number of actual participants you allow per class (not including auditors)?

Secondly, I’ve heard pretty strong pros and cons regarding Voice123. I’m a producer myself; hence, I totally get (and support) cross-promotion and have done much of it myself. Are you teaching the Voice123 navigation more as an endorsement of them, as a viable “pay-to-play” site enabling less well-established voice actors to get a “leg up,” or because of a business relationship? No judgment here, but I would enjoy hearing your feedback.

Thirdly, would the skills learned regarding Voice123 navigation translate to Voices.com and other “pay-to-play” sites?

Thanks so much. Hopefully I’ll have a chance to actually meet you on March 1st. Sorry I missed you the last time you were in town.

    Best –

    Jim

      Jim,

      We’d love to have you!

We have a maximum of 15 Participants, and 25 Auditors in the class, for a total of 40 students – the Participants get on mic and do work and get the MP3s, and the Auditors watch. We do have Participant seats available as of today.

I don’t have any business relationship with Voice123, other than they’ve listed me as one of the possible sources that led people to Voice123. I teach this because I believe that you should have as much information as you can to be a good business person, and casting sites like Voice123 are important to understand. It’s not just navigation that we’re teaching, it’s everything you need to use Voice123 successfully. As a producer, you may end up creating both voice talent and voice seeker personas on Voice123 – we show you why it’s a good idea to do that. But no, it’s not an endorsement of them or because of any business relationship – it’s because they are a part of the business.

And yes, all of the skills we teach regarding Voice123 are applicable to Voices.com, VOPlanet, Voice Bunny, and far more importantly, ACX.

So looking forward to seeing you if you can make it.

      David
