Hey, there!
Short and sweet today.
I got a note from one of my lovely VO2GoGO Pro members, Donya, who asked a simple question about an area of voice over work she’d heard me talk about in the Getting Started class.
New to the VO industry (she’s only been studying with me for a couple of months), she asked, “What exactly is ADR?”
Some of you may know that I have a separate site where I answer acting-related questions.
The answer to her question is here:
That links you to not only a fairly in-depth look at how we as actors and VO people engage in ADR, but also a video that shows how a scene I was in in Heroes was enhanced with ADR.
The article discusses what ADR is, how you’ll come across it and work in it, and how the post-production process uses ADR to make all the shows you watch better.
Check it out.
Hope this helps!
David
Thanks for sharing, David. Do you know of any ADR groups or if ADR is common here in NY?
