HTTPS Is Not Just For Banks – It’s For You

Out of the blue, one of my students asked me, “Why do you insist on adding the S to the HTTP at the beginning of your web address (https://vo2gogo.com)? It’s really annoying when I see that! I don’t want to have to remember to type an extra letter just to get to a site!”
There’s much to unpack there, but she has a valid question: why make your site secure?
I’ll tell you why: because if you don’t, Google will punish you in several ways. And I love them for doing it.

Saying Goodbye To A “Failure”

The Robocall Equivalent Of Unsubscribe
Hey there!
Any idea how many robocalls we get each month? Here in the US, it’s 5 billion a month, all told. Some people place their phone numbers on the national Do Not Call list, at donotcall.gov. Most of the bad guys ignore that list, but it helps a little.
And many of us, in an attempt to stop the madness, wait for the instructions in the call as to what button to push to remove ourselves from the call center’s lists.
Big mistake.
